Zenia was a dryad, her life tied to the center tree of Lanilow Grove. Countless centuries have passed since she first emerged from the trunk of the now ancient oak, each year passing in the forest under her careful, glowing gaze. No Man had ventured to the Grove, but things always change.

Cain was proud, standing tall even as time began to show its hold over him. White snuck its way through his hair and wound into his beard, yet he continued his long hikes into the forest. Many nights, he would be at the local tavern, boasting of sights he'd seen to anyone who would listen. When he stumbles across a hidden Grove that housed who he believes to be the most beautiful woman he's ever seen, Cain truly believes he's met his death. That is, until Zenia finally speaks.

Over weeks, an unlikely friendship forms, on the condition Cain keeps the Grove a secret. Though the man adored his boasting, he agreed. After all, some deep part of him, the greedy part of Man, swelled at the idea of having the knowledge all to himself.
