Link has saved Hyrule following the events of Ocarina of Time. But instead of going back to his childhood as Zelda suggests, he decides to remain a young adult--hoping to start a future with her. When he visits an old friend, Link's vision becomes clouded. 
(All main characters are over 18 in this story!)

In modern day Hyrule, Link is an orphan who lives in an orphanage. Because he is meant to be the Hero of Hyrule, his bunkmates get jealous and bully him for it. When Link enters first grade, he befriends Zelda, the most beautiful girl in Hyrule, and eventually falls in love with her. The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. It's best not to mess with time. Zelda has been searching for Link for years after sending him off for his personal journey he never returned from. She's the only one who believes he's still out there, everyone else has moved on but her. She's stuck in a repeating cycle, her mind only focusing on one thing. Having no further duties as the Master Sword, Fi is reincarnated and given another life as a human. Ghirahim's situation, however, is complicated. He is alive, but not the same. Can he reawaken Fi's memories, and will she forgive him after everything he's done? Even then, how will their lives continue as they are? Treated as an outcast amongst the mysterious Kokiri children, Link was always different from the others. It wasn't until the Great Deku Tree finally bestowed unto him a guardian fairy, something that every Kokiri had. Excited to become accepted as part of the tribe, Link would soon find out that the Great Deku Tree had larger plans for him. Meanwhile, in the midst of rifts between the Gerudo and the Hylians, the King of the Gerudo has travelled to Hyrule Castle Town to make peace, and pledge allegiance to the King of Hyrule. Zelda, the young princess of Hyrule and heiress to the throne, does not trust the Gerudo King, but the words from the child's mouth fall against deaf ears. The Royal Family guards ancient secrets of the goddesses, but Zelda knows something more about the fate of Hyrule.
