While battling for survival, Brooke's childhood best friend is slaughtered on field. As his closest companion, she is asked to clean his quarters, and finds traces that he may still be alive. Charlie Holden is a fifteen year old boy from the Club Division. His upbeat attitude and sarcastic remarks are nothing compared to what he will learn to overcome in the House of Cards. During his time there, he meets Brooke Anton, a girl from the heart division who happens to be sneaking out just as he is. They make plans to start meeting like this every night.
