" This isn't a relationship, Blackbourne..this is-"
" No?" He questions, eyes absently trailing the length of Loki's body in a quick glance. "Well, I like to think it is, little one.." Loki's eyes snap up to meet Nik's, wide in shock, as he jerks back, defiance creeping across his face, and, with a roll of his eyes, he let's out a laugh.
" Absolutely not..this ISN'T a relationship! I'll even prove it.." Loki states, turning so he faces the dark-haired King-to-be. Grabbing Nik by the collar of his tunic, Loki pulls him closer, and presses his lips firmly to the Vampire's.
The kiss lasts barely a moment, not long enough for Nik to react or kiss back, before Loki has pulled away, and, with a pointed look at the stunned into silence Vampire, Loki turns his attention back to the novel resting in his lap.
As he turns away, Nik spots the very faint blush of red staining Loki's usually pale cheeks, and, with a slight smirk, he returns to examining the peace treaties.
" Right..not a relationship."
Ray is low on time, luck, and hope; his only chance is an artifact that may not even exist. But upon meeting Landon, Ray is beginning to believe he might find all four.
*****
Cambions are doomed to tragedy. They are weak, sickly creatures that rarely live to see their twentieth year. Ray refuses to resign himself to that fate. Upon learning of the Crimson Sheath-an artifact capable of preserving his life-Ray is prepared to fight, steal, and kill to get his hands on it. He is not prepared for Landon. Landon is an orphan with no memories of his parents, the only inheritance left to him a dagger, sleeping in a crimson sheath. Though he has no love of bloodshed and no use for a dagger, Landon isn't about to let Ray take his only link to his forgotten history, even if that means following the cambion past the edge of the world and into the shadow beyond.
