While Kenna sinks further and further away into the Darkness, betrayed and without hope, Rowan does everything in his power to get back the Sorceress he has grown to love.

After the White Sisters' betrayal, Kenna's friends flee Vallinstra and she is left behind, completely surrendered to the Darkness and Cain's dubious schemes. However, some mysteries are still to be solved regarding the source of her unusual powers. Delving deeper into the history of magic, Kenna stumbles upon ancient weapons, lost societies and a strange contraption hidden in the mountains in the North that seems to connect it all. Meanwhile, Cain's plans for Chtonia start to take shape...

Rowan is bent on returning to Kenna after she forced him to leave her behind, but when a scout of the King's Army discovers that Cain and his Dark Sorcerers plan to attack the Capital, Rowan is sent to the King himself to prepare for a siege. The Academy and the Guild have declared Kenna a state enemy, yet Rowan refuses to believe that the girl he loves is gone for good. With the help of his friends, he does whatever he can to save Kenna - and Chtonia - from their downfall.

Kenna's and Rowan's fates are destined to cross again, but the inevitable confrontation may be a lot more complicated than expected.
