Her heart wept for them as soon as the words left his mouth. "I promised I'd find you, didn't I?" He kissed her cheek gently, wiping some of the tears from her face.
"I will..." He started, his voice breaking, and tears flowing. He took a deep breath, and closed his eyes, before continuing. "I will find you. No matter what. I swear to god, no day will go by where I'm not searching for you."
This is set before they're put into the maze. They're still young, and have no clue how evil WCKD really is. Slowly they're starting to learn.
I only own the rights to my oc, but do not take credit for any others i've used in the story. I also used James Dashner's books as inspiration for my story, which is set before his books. As well as Wes' interpretation of the books, through his films.

Since We Were Kids (Newt x Reader)
"We are never getting out of here are we," I said to my best friend without the slightest bit of hope. "Come on, Teddy. Don't think like that," he says trying to reassure me. I notice him fidgeting with his hands, knowing I'm probably right. We are both standing on the Watch tower, leaning over the railing. I look across the Glade. I study the people and my surroundings. I remember when I first met Newt. Two young kids finding their way out of the Maze. We protected each other at all costs. We still do. We are all each other has. ~~~ Teddy has been trapped in the Glade for about three years. She was the third person to come up in the box with pure confusion and fear. Sometimes though, she wonders about what life outside the Maze is like, what their lives could be like. They've seemed to have tried everything, and loosing her friends is her worst nightmare. But when the opportunity is open to leave, thanks to Thomas, will they take the chance to get out? She wakes up in a cage cold and confused. She refuses to show any weakness in this strange new place; she shoves everything down, deep down behind a mask of indifference snippy remarks and a few right hooks. She wont let these new and strange boys see her cry, she wont show them any signs of weakness. She can't, she's the only girl and she needs to be tough. It's the only way to survive this harsh new world she finds herself in. Being tough and ruthless catches the attention of one particular builder. He's not one for emotions either, especially in a place like the Glade. He knows something is off, and he does his absolute best to keep order around him and in him, when everything's falls apart. Are these two destined to be together? Or are they too similar in personalities? Are they too broken from their own traumas to work it out? Maybe she likes him. Kind of. Maybe he might like her.
