'Ya Allah, Rescue Me!' is the journey of an African transgender man, who is a prisoner in his own life, due to family issues, his personal identity, toxic relationships and his Islamic background. Growing up in Mombasa, Kenya, where the LGBTQ+ community is termed 'devilish,' has led to trauma after trauma in Maleek's life, forcing him to continue living in his past. Everyday, he struggles with transphobia, rejection, seclusion, abuse and self-esteem issues, a clear reflection of his childhood. After he is brutally kicked out of the Mosque by the Imams, he plots on how to start a new life in a different town. He runs away from home, seeks his independence, and just as Maleek thinks he's found a family, more drama and chaos unfolds in his life. It is a beautiful, emotional and triggering story of an African Muslim Transgender man, on the quest to search for light in his dark life, only to find himself trapped in Hell, and dancing to the beats of Shaitan.All Rights Reserved
