Harley had a traumatic experience that resulted in her muteness. Characterized as voluntary due to trauma, she feels like her voice has been ripped from her body. While she worries desperately about whether she'll ever fit in and find her voice, she realizes all she needs is a bit of affection from a peer. Apollo, the new gorgeous boy, walks into her life and changes everything. He's quite interested in her, but, doesn't need her to talk in order to learn about her. Her handwriting is pretty and he's teaching her sign language, as his brother is deaf. He'd love to hear her voice some day but she'll never be pushed. He'd make sure of it.
