Three crime syndicates came together to create Project Erase, an experiment to obliterate all humanity in a child and raise them into mindless soldiers and heartless assassins.

Six years after Project Erase was eradicated, Laramie was contacted by an FBI agent and was informed that someone was restarting the project. They needed her help to expose the identity of a fake CEO and figure out the real phantom CEO funding Erase.

The real mastermind behind the corporation was someone she was told she would never see again.

Someone she never stopped searching for.

Why?

She owed him a life debt.

Excerpt:

My red stilettos clicked across the marble flooring, the sound as loud as the beat of a drum pounding in the silence of the room. My skirt swished and brushed against the tops of my knees, swaying with me as I walked. My gun and silencer were both tucked into the purse I held in my hand and they were as easily accessible as my red lipstick.

I came here to accomplish a goal and that's exactly what I plan on doing.

Book #3 in The Fire series BLAKE RIVERA "You're the leader of a gang." Aiden yells. I look up at him. "You don't think I know that?" I yell back. "I am doing everything I can to protect my people!" "Your people are being murdered. You're in a war you don't even know is happening." "I know what's going on out there. I know what's happening." "Then why aren't you doing anything to stop it?" I slam my hands on the desk and stand up. "I am doing everything I can!" I yell anger laced in my voice as it flowed through my veins. Suddenly the lights went out; a flashing red light comes on as alarms sound. "You need to do more." Aiden says. "Otherwise this. It's never going to stop." "They're attacking." I realize. "They're always attacking. And they're not going to stop until we're dead." "Or surrender." I mumble and Aidens head snaps up to look at me. "You won't. You can't." "No, what I can't do is kill Felix." "The man you loved isn't there anymore. Can't you see that? He's gone. A monster wears his skin. What's it going to take before you realize that?" I shake my head. "Evacuate. Make sure everyone gets out of here. No one dies today." "Well, someone should. And we both know who it needs to be." Aiden says before he leaves the room. I know Aiden is right, but I can't kill Felix, even if he keeps trying to kill me. I shake my head and sit back down. Just because everyone else was leaving didn't mean I had to also. Maybe I can talk some sense into him. I sigh. I've tried to already, but maybe this time it will be different. Maybe I should tell him the truth. Maybe I should tell him Nadia is his daughter. The door to my planning room is thrown open but I stay seated. I look up as men flood into the room, soon followed by Felix. His emotionless eyes find mine and he cocks his gun. "You should have run with the others."

"Pierce, please I'm trying to study." I let out an aggravated sigh as my eyes flickered upward from the white-colored pages of my textbook. Pierce approached closer to me, sliding the textbook out from my lap and throwing it to the side. "Take a break." His voice demanded as he pressed his lips up to my neck, as he left soft kisses on my skin. I threw my head back, closing my eyes shut as the stress in my body left. I had been studying non-stop for my upcoming chemistry test and I had to admit it'd be nice to have a break. "I really need to study-" I started but couldn't finish my sentence as Pierce pressed his lips to mine. I gave in to his kiss as his lips moved in sync with mine. He pushed me flat down on the bed as his body hovered over mine. His hands grabbing my hips as he scrunched up my clothes, pushing them up to reveal my skin. I placed my hands flat on his chest as his lips continued to move with mine. The kiss turning from soft to passionate within seconds. He grabbed my thigh, forcing my legs to wrap around his torso not breaking his lips away for a second. I moved my hands down to the body of his shirt, tugging on the end of them. "For fuck sakes," Pierce muttered as he broke away from me, his phone ringing. He pulled away from me, grabbing his phone off the nightstand only for me to get a glance that it had been Xander calling. He placed the phone up to his ear, rubbing his face in his hands. "What is it?" I asked in concern, watching Pierce's expression change from annoyance to worry as Xander spoke through the phone. I waited for Pierce to say something but he didn't before hanging up and grabbing my leather jacket off the chair that was nearby, throwing it over to me. "We need to go. NOW." Pierce stated, his voice demanding and cold as he reached for his keys and walked out of the apartment. I sat on the bed, clutching my jacket in my hands as I stared ahead at the ground, swallowing a lump in my throat. Can I just catch a break for once?

My head throbbed, and every fiber of my being felt heavy and numb. Blinking my eyes open, the world around me was a blur of white walls and beeping machines. My head throbbed with pain, and I struggled to piece together what had happened. My memory felt like shattered glass, and I couldn't find the missing fragments. As I tried to sit up, a man entered the room, his face familiar yet distant. He wore a facade of concern, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. "Welcome back, my love," he said, his voice smooth and tinged with an Italian accent and laced with a hint of tenderness. "You gave us quite a scare. You were ambushed while on a mission, and we found you unconscious. It's a miracle you're awake." "I'm sorry, but I don't remember you," I admitted, my voice uncertain. His expression shifted, a hint of disappointment flickering in his eyes. "It's okay, darling. You had an accident. You'll remember in time." He called me darling, but the endearment felt foreign to me. My mind was a maze of uncertainty, and I grasped for any hint of familiarity. "I need to know what happened," I insisted, my voice gaining a semblance of determination. He sighed, weaving a tale of deception with practiced ease. "You were attacked while on a mission for the Italian mafia. They left you for dead, but I found you and brought you to safety. We've been married for a year now, my darling Kylie. Don't worry; your memory will come back.""
