I remember when I found out about the little life growing inside of me. It filled me hope. For new beginnings. For my husband's love. I remember the fist kick. The changes my body went through to make sure the little one was safe inside of me. Even though I went to the doctor's appointments alone, I was sure my son would change Gray's coldness towards me. Then it happened. The accident. I was found down the stairs unconscious, bleeding. And my little hope was gone. My husband believes I killed our baby. And now he's back for revenge. He has sworn on making my life a living hell until I admit my sins. Only I know I didn't trip or cause myself to fall. I was pushed. But it's hard to get him to listen to me when his mind is made up and his eyes burn with hatred. •••• "Look at me, princess." I open my eyes, aware that my naked body is pinned beneath his. Every inch of my skin tingles from his lustful gaze. "I don't give a fuck how you feel. You can fight this all you want. Or you can lie here like a good girl and let me give you another son." He leans in, his breath ghosting over my skin, every inch of space between us collapsing. "Still pretending you have a choice?" His voice is soft, almost amused. My throat tightens, but I force the words out anyway. "I don't belong to you." A low, knowing chuckle rumbles through him. Fingers tighten around my chin, tilting my face up until I'm caught in his unyielding gaze. Cold. Calculating. "Belong?" he echoes, as if the word itself is laughable. "You exist because I allow it. You breathe because I haven't taken that from you, yet." Tears burn at the edges of my vision, but I don't dare look away. "Fight all you want," he murmurs, eyes scanning my face, his grip unshaking. "Scream, beg, break--I don't care. In the end, little one, you'll learn. Because every part of you?" His lips brush against my ear, a cruel whisper of finality. "It's already mine." __________________________________________ A meaningless prank call caused this disaster, a series of deaths and misery. And maybe it was more than a prank call... maybe it was your loved ones, the people you least expect it to be, to stab you in the back. After all, they do say money changes a person. **18+** **DARK ROMANCE**
