Anchor

An anchor is something that keeps you grounded. Something that keeps the currents of the world from sweeping you away into the unknown. For some people it's a metal contraption that keeps their boat from floating away, for some it's a parent who will love them to the grave. I had him. One of the seven next door neighbors that were never allowed out to play. What I didn't know then was that anchors work both ways. He kept the force inside of me from taking over, and I made sure he didn't go to far. Not alone at least.
