"Yes ma. What request?" She was distracted from her thoughts.

"Please, don't worry about them. Don't be scared or try to prove strong to them. Them, I mean, your former roommates. As you know before, they are a case, except Sonia, your baby." They smiled. "See, it's the person who is both good and quiet that people fear the most because they don't know what they will say or do next.

"I know you, at least, eighty five percent of our life. Your mother is wicked to you because you refused to study the case she chose for you. Your dad is quiet about all this because it seems he has been bewitched. Your step-siblings are with your father but you are not. Every student hates you because they were flabbergasted to see you receive all the prizes in the core subjects last session, not knowing the story behind that.

"Now, Delila has finally separated you from your guardian, me because it's another H.M that will be there in that new block. So please, don't worry at all about all these or you will meet me in the school's clinic.

"I believe that no matter the challenges you are facing and you will meet, you are more than able to prove the devil and your haters wrong. In that new room of yours, be of good cheer. If there be any problem, Sonia and I are always here for you."

Florence's eyes were already filled with tears. She dropped her boxes and hugged her tightly.

I say quietly to him. "You won't what?" He says, wrinkling his brows in confusion. "Break her heart." I finish saying. I see him nod from the corner of my eyes, contemplating on what to say next. Book 1 of the "Used to Be" Series Scarlett Fisher: the school's resident mean girl. Beautiful, smart (but doesn't let people know), charismatic, confident (or at least that's what everyone thinks.) The truth is, she's scared, Scared that one day people will see past her smile and charm, and see the person she really is on the inside. Scared that someone will remember who she used to be. ~•~ Now I know I seem like a bitch, and your probably thinking I'm your stereotypical mean girl, but I wasn't always like this, back when high school first started. I had a best friend who I thought I would be friends with forever. I was shy and timid, and I was foolish enough to believe what people told me. Back then everyone knew me as Arora. After the incident I decided to stop going by my first name, I had also learned that being mean, and not taking anything form anyone was the only way to get people to treat you with respect. ~•~ Arora Fisher: the girl most people didn't notice until they needed help with homework, the girl who was voted most likely to disappear and no one would notice. The girl who her believed in the good in others, who wanted to just give people a chance, no matter how many red flags. The girl who was lost to tragedy. ~•~ "We'll be broken together." He try's to smile, but he can't manage it and I nod, knowing how much pain he feels. "We'll be broken together." I whisper, after that we sit there, in an empty silence, neither of us wanting to be the first one to speak again, because it feels off, like the sound of our own voices might somehow break our hearts more.

You had been attending the same school for over 15 years, obviously because you were born in the small town in North Carolina. You were living a pretty normal life, till all of the abductions started happening in 1977. But lets go back a bit. Lets go back to the year 1976. You had been on a night shift on November 18th, 1976. There were many more people than your previous shift. Really the only people there were dropouts, druggies, drug dealers, freaks, and alcoholics. All around the ages 14-22. Everybody was pretty chill with eachother, except for a few people, but that was just the minority. You had been zoned out while staring at the clock, then suddenly heard a DING! Some kid wanted to buy some cigarettes again. You looked at him and he said "Jesus kid, you in a mental insitute or something? Snap out of it." you ringed him up after he asked you for a pack of camels, and then looked at a familiar guy playing pinball. The same blonde that got over 100,000 his last time he came. Everybody started hyping him up, so he's trying to beat 100,000. You remember the mess you had to clean up after some kid accidently knocked over a bunch of beer. You like to not think about how it ruined your favorite pair of shoes. He messed up again, and kicked the machine. You yelled out to him "That thing costs money you know." then he looked at you. His face almost looked angelic. But he had been the jerk of your highschool, so he couldn't be that angelic. He looked away and picked at his pockets. He pulled out nothing. He started walking up to you and started asking for a dime. "Come on, I feed you guys this money all the damn time. Plus you will just get it back." "Then maybe don't waste all your money on pinball. We've gained around $200 with you coming here almost everyday. Thanks for that." and then you smiled while picking up your book. He looked at you in anger, then you looked back up at him. He looked like he was in a bad mood. "Here's a dime." you said handing him a dime.
