Dagur is back in Hiccup's life after three years and Hiccup can't not notice how much the older boy had changed. After some time, Hiccup realises he's really starting to like that guy, but it's all much more complicated when you take into account the fact that Hiccup is a half merman and has to keep it a secret.
This is a How to Train your Dragon AU that I have been working on for a few months now and I'm originally posting it on AO3. I don't know if it's obvious, but this is a Dagur x Hiccup fanfic.

The name is given to those who won't survive their first winter. Those who don't belong, those who will not be any more than a burden. Hiccup isn't an exception to this. I mean, sure he survived his first winter, and the next fifteen. But he caused problems, not on purpose. Things just happened when he was around. First when he was six, and a nearby furnace blew up when he lost his temper. Then when he was eight, nine, eleven. These strange happenings kept occurring, and nothing he did helped. Everything he did, everything he tried had some way of turning back on him. For the longest time he believe that the God's cursed him.
