Emilia "Lia" Elementa runs away from her aunt's home and ends up wandering into fey territory. Meanwhile, Mabon Cadwallader is avoiding the ghosts haunting his town but ends up running from home upon learning about a recent family tragedy and his destiny to become Arawn, the Welsh god of death's apprentice. The two come to a head in the feys' nest and their fates and hearts become intertwined, especially when Mabon's brother's job at the paper mill goes haywire and creates a murderous smog.
Underlying this, Lia must come to terms with witnessing her parents' deaths, and her own powers, while Mabon is dealing with a personal tragedy.

Red Snow (The Shadows bk.3)

39 parts Complete

Now known as the Mad Queen, Sairene's mental state continues to deteriorate. Trusting no one, the young Queen has dissolved her council and dismissed her advisors. All except one. Thranduil, along with trusted healer Arvellon, begins to search for a way to 'cure' his mentally unstable niece. Legolas is more determined than ever to find out who Sairene really is and why his father would risk so much to help her. And when he finds out, it is not in the way he expected. Sairene continues to study the art of magic. Her skill grows, as does the people's confusion of the Queen's aversion to mirrors. What else is she hiding ?
