A story in which a girl finds her beautiful thing.
"I don't know what I am," he said as he looked down, toying with his fingers. Uncertainty and insecurity filled his voice. My heart felt sore, hearing the vulnerability radiate off of him as he spoke. This was foreign to me, and to him as well.
I gently lifted his head with my index finger, cupped his face, and turned him towards me. Sad green eyes met my own. I could feel my heart quicken it's pace, as my brain tried to figured out what I should say. I could only think of one thing.
"You are the beautiful thing."
