Cathryn Elen Elizabeth was an only child born in 1834 she is just turning 16 and is of age. Her main concern is her coming out party and seeing her mother there to prove that after 10 years with her grandmother she is the lady her mother never was. She and her grandmother have planned for every eligible bachelor to be there determined to find herself a man to court her or two. She is as excited as any girl could be to be to going into Georgia's high society the parties, dances, dresses, fun, and men. She doesn't realise all the lying, cheating, and secrets that come with it. What will happen when she meets a man who isn't like the other men? he's dark, mysterious, handsome and has a way with words. She needs to know more but will it become too much when he threatens the other suitors who are going after her hand. How will Cathryn survive the high society of Georgia?
