Kai Liu is a cocky, fun-loving mystery fiction novelist with a lot of praise and fame. He goes by the pen name Ten, because he doesn't want people digging into his past. Born as a Chinese orphan, he was adopted and brought to NYC where his trauma lays hidden with his family. Jun Lei is the cold and classy CEO of Vogue International magazine, and uses business as an excuse to take his mind off of his personal life. While he was always taught to be proper, and is not prone to showing emotion (always has a straight face), his past breakup has stripped him of any hope for love and warmth.
When these two start appearing in each other's dreams they are brought together to understand the story of their past lives and to help each other through their present, and to kindle something a little more than just a friendship.
*I used the main characters of The Untamed, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, as inspiration for Kai and Jun's characters, and will maybe continue to mention the plot of The Untamed throughout the story. In the uncensored story, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji share a platonic love that surpasses Wei Wuxian's two lives. I also used the drama "She was Pretty" as an inspiration for Kai's backstory as an author with a pen name Ten to hide his trauma.*

Sean Owens: a stoic, popular jock that's mostly known for his sporty lifestyle and his good looks at his school. No one -not even his closest friends- know he's gay, but he's never tried to hide it, just never tried to show it either.
