Seventeen year old Misty Cellars lives in a double-wide trailer where she bargains with a local drug gang to keep her mother out of prison. After losing her father to heroin, she is invited to a weekend church gathering, or so it appears. Instead, Misty is initiated into the underworld of her town's twisted history. She learns of the battle between the Hawkweed and the Gardeners, and the recently revealed role of the Lampyridae in the fight for the heart of her town. Misty learns that her family's misfortunes are part of a larger ploy to keep the town's residents poor and under control. But why would outside forces be so interested in a small town in Maine? Misty learns the answer lies closer to home than she ever could have imagined.

Misty is growing up in a town that no one ever leaves. "Bloom where you are planted," is a phrase often invoked by the old folks of the town. Still, Misty feels stifled by her classmates, her parents, and worst of all, herself. Can she break free of the chains that she helped create?

This story is my happy place; I do not plan on ever finishing it. It will go on and on like a soapie. Might break it up into volumes later. "Grab a bunch of broken misfits, chuck them in a tribe, add some glitter and loads of weird-as garbage, voila, you've got yourself a fairy tale... kinda... just... you know... minus the fairies..." Paisley Davenport ♫ When Willow Mayfair's life falls apart, her mother brings her to Briar Cove, the small coastal town where she grew up. Living with Rebecca's childhood friend, a new world filled with love, excitement, and friendship opens up for both of them. For everybody who also dreams of a fairy tale and won't care if the "knights" were a little dirty. Genre: Slice of Life/Romance/Humour This is a slow-burn journey through love and life, filled with an array of beloved characters, their sad moments, happy moments and a multitude of bat-sh#t crazy moments. P.S.: This is not a fairy tale... Thank you: Micaela, for helping the characters take on a life of their own and encouraging me to keep on writing. Phillo, for not minding reading girly stories... if it's to help your mom. Jeandré, your weird-as sense of humour and quirky feedback inspires me and keeps me going. ♫ This is a work of fiction. Some people merely adopt darkness, but she was born into it. Hiding every gloomy secret, covering all the lies, she walks through the life devoid of all emotions. They all labeled her, those silly people, if only they had stop for a moment and observed. Looked into her eyes and see the wreckage behind them, see the hurt and the pain behind that anger. Nobody noticed, nobody tried to care... until that someone. • • • They loath each other and there's nothing anyone could do. Winter and Ethan are like fire and ice, like darkness and light, like hurricane and tornado they don't mix at all. But, fate, my friend is one hell of a player. So, what will happen when Fate works it's magic and the two arch enemies are thrown together? Amidst all the chaos, heart breaks and tears, will the truth finally come out and surrender? or will it act just as stubborn as the person, who hid it. Copyright © mysteriouslypoetic 2018.
