The Land of the Zelandoni

The more time Ayla dedicates to her spiritual journey, the more Jondalar feels neglected and the less time Jonayla has with her mother. How will the family handle these challenges as the distance seems to be permanent? Meanwhile, tensions arise at the Summer Meeting as a group of hunters stray too close to a nearby clan. Can Ayla get to the Summer Meeting in time to help defuse the tension? Will anyone listen or will more violence and brutally mark the relationship between the two people?

This is a fanfic which is going to re-write the end of The Land of Painted Caves by Jean M. Auel. I believe Ayla and Jondalar have had so much character growth that what happens in the last part of this book is out of character, and I want to do this fanfic to make myself happy and do them justice.
If you haven't read the last book and you don't want spoilers, please be aware this will include spoilers. The timeline might not be 100% because I skipped 200 pages of the caves in this volume, but I will try my best - and it's fanfic so I can do what I want haha
I've marked this as adult as they have kids, but themes would appeal to new adult readers (and potentially younger but it will be about marriage and child rearing and juggling a career with this + there will be sex scenes).
