What does distance mean if it is for your one true love? In the midst of an alien invasion, Mikako joins the resistance, leaving behind Noboru, the young man she loves. As she travels deeper into space, her only connection with Noboru is through cell-phone text messages. As the war rages on and years pass, her messages take longer and longer to reach Noboru, and while she barely ages in the timelessness of space, Noboru continues to grow older. How can the love of two people, torn apart by war, space and time, survive?

*This work is an English translation of the manga Hoshi No Koe by Shinkai Makoto. I read this manga a long time back, and it has stayed with me ever since. As it will, with all of you. I want to share this beautiful story with everyone, and so I translated the original manga and wrote it in the form of a story, here. Once again, I just gave it a new platform, the credit goes entirely to the creators of this manga and anime. Do read the manga and watch the anime, too.*
