Late 1800's Jolene, a 13 year old scrappy mixed race orphan with a very bleak outlook on her future makes a life altering discovery that leads to a dangerous escape with her only trusted friend and discovering how big the world's outside of that terrible orphanage. Disguising her gender identity becomes a must to survive and takes on the alias 'Joe Baker.' The world ain't too kind to women, especially women that look like her. Through a series of twists and turns, Jolene is left clinging to life on the side of a mountain. Will her rescue just be a lucky coincidence or is it fate? Miakoda, a 'Wapiti' Native American girl whose world was shattered from a young age. Everything was taken from her due to colonization. Going into hiding with her grandmother up in the mountains to avoid going into a reservation, there they must rely on each other and the wilds. The world and isolation has turned Miakoda as cold as her surroundings, angry, untrusting and cautious until they discover a young person clinging to life. Will this encounter cause more harm than good? Will they find salvation in each other or will it be their undoing? This story is inspired by the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. [TLOUxARCANE] "Even when it's over, it comes back in flashes. Like a kaleidoscope of things I shouldn't have done. Shouldn't have seen. Shouldn't have felt." "Some places change you. Some people ruin you. She did both." Rhaeya lives in the gold-and-glass prison of Topside - all polished smiles and suffocating rules. One night, she slips into The Pit: the city beneath the city, where danger breathes and nothing is clean. That's where she meets Ellie. A girl with a cigarette in her mouth and war in her eyes. They weren't supposed to fall. Not like this. Secrets leak. Loyalties crack. And when love starts a war between two worlds, there's only one way it can end. This isn't a love story. It's a downfall. A rebellion. A burn you don't come back from. [In this story Ellie grew up in the Pit (undercity inspired from Arcane) x female reader named Rhaeya, from the Topside. They're meant to be enemies]
