"I want you to know how much I enjoy this. The taste of your blood, the smell of your fear. I could've let you go. But I'm doing this because I want to. There is no mercy here."
Lyrepaw gulped, her eyes big. She didn't know how to react. To this sudden change in behaviour, from this cat she knew all her life... since when were they a monster who craved death?
She knew one thing, and one thing only.
She had been betrayed.
"So I think we've all accepted that I'm going to die at this point. But since you're an elder, can you at least make my death really cool?"
Rainstorm scoffed and nodded. "Anything." she breathed. "Like... you died in battle? Fighting off an eagle?"
They nodded, a faint smile appearing on their muzzle. "Yeah. Eagle attack... I was protecting the kits. Remember that part."
"So from the bottom of my heart, I love you."
Yes! I said it! Brightpaw thought. Finally, I said what I wanted to say for two seasons. I got it out.
"Oh, I'm really sorry..." they trailed off. Brightpaw's smile faded.
"You don't like me back, do you?"
"Are you always this prone to bad luck and violence? If so, that's kind of sad."
"Shush, mouse-brain," Stormkit muttered. "I wasn't born in this Clan, I don't know what to expect. Do eagle attacks happen every other day?"
"Yeah they do. You have a lot to learn."

Blossompaw is the apprentice to Crystalwing, the medicine cat of AirClan, but even with such an important role, she always feels ignored. Everyone swoons over her, sympathising with her, caring for her, when all she wants is for cats not to do that, to listen. However, when StarClan tell her of this evil, she may get the chance to prove herself to everyone. Rockpaw feels like an outcast, everyday being hated on by his Clanmates for seeing things differently. So when the chance to prove them wrong comes up, he doesn't give it a second thought. But the evil still resides, and Rockpaw might know more about it then he's letting on, even to himself. Greyshard, as a former kittypet, has always thought of life in the Clans as challenging. For her, everything seems to go wrong. Every plan, every schedule, every patrol - ends up in a disaster, and its always because of her.
