What lurks within the abyss? Deep beneath Earth's expansive oceans, there exists a race of people unbeknownst to most humans, who live in an underwater realm all their own- the Seafolk. An ancient evolutionary offshoot of human beings, these mysterious entities dwell in the remote depths of the sea, their forms taking after an array of sea creatures to create a society of waterbound humanoids perfectly adapted to their environment. Loosely structured kingdoms of Seafolk exist throughout the world, and one of these is the domain of Princess Tamayori, the oarfish folk ruler of the Sea of Japan. Set to marry Prince Stellaris of the Antarctic Ocean to unite the two distant kingdoms, the message of her betrothal falls into the hands of Kurage, a jellyfish folk who serves the princess as one of her many loyal messengers. Determined to faithfully serve her beloved master, Kurage embarks on a dangerous journey into the open sea alongside Chrystal, a fellow jellyfish messenger who isn't pleased about her job being assigned to someone else. The two messengers must put aside their differences and work together to survive the perils of the great ocean, realizing that the world is far bigger and more unfathomable than they could have ever imagined. As the treacharous trip continues, they also soon discover that the royals of the Seafolk, including Princess Tamayori, are not as noble as they seem...
