Tyrin Jacobs, 17, is a young girl who just moved into Charlotte, North Carolina with her newly divorced father. She was happy to move because at her old school in Ohio, she had a bad reputation there and eventually got herself a name that people would call her. She's now a changed person but also doesn't feel comfortable talking about her past to anyone.
She continues her junior year at Myers High School and then meets a soon to be close friend of hers, Ariyana Brooks. Ariyana is the complete opposite of Tyrin and that's what brings them close to one another. They end up going to a party and Tyrin meets two boys who completely change her life and also cause many problems.
