The wolf hid in the shadows, waiting to see who dares come near his turf. He saw a little girl in a red hooded coat, skipping through the trail. Despite his rumbling belly, he decides to merely be an observer, and not pounce. Yet.
This is a rewriting of the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale, from the "bad guy's" point of view as a part of a writing exercise.

He backed me into the wall and clamped my mouth shut, "Be quiet" his words lashed. His breath fanned against my face and I could smell mint in his breath. The closet was so dark I couldn't make out any of his features except for forest green eyes that pierced into mine, drilling into my skull. One year, during a very frightening encounter with a wolf, her cape is ripped and the magic leaves the garment forever. In order to re-enchant the cape, Phoenix must provide a sample of the blood of the thing she fears the most. In this case, Phoenix's greatest fear was a specific wolf that is believed to be the biggest of them all. The very essence of the term Big Bad Wolf. On her quest, Phoenix learns to face her fears.
