The wolf hid in the shadows, waiting to see who dares come near his turf. He saw a little girl in a red hooded coat, skipping through the trail. Despite his rumbling belly, he decides to merely be an observer, and not pounce. Yet.
This is a rewriting of the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale, from the "bad guy's" point of view as a part of a writing exercise.

A Retelling of Charles Perrault's Little Red Cap The Crimson Cape retells the classic story of Charles Perrault's fairytale Little Red Cap, better known as Little Red Riding Hood. For many years, the people living in the Infinite Forest have lived in fear of the wolves that inhabit those woods. The wolves used to periodically attack humans and some of the victims lost their lives. In addition to weaponry to defend themselves, the people would don enchanted clothing that would protect them from the wolves. Phoenix is a young girl who grew up without a mother, who was killed by wolves when Phoenix was only a toddler. She was given an enchanted crimson cape to wear whenever she left. the house. One year, during a very frightening encounter with a wolf, her cape is ripped and the magic leaves the garment forever. In order to re-enchant the cape, Phoenix must provide a sample of the blood of the thing she fears the most. In this case, Phoenix's greatest fear was a specific wolf that is believed to be the biggest of them all. The very essence of the term Big Bad Wolf. On her quest, Phoenix learns to face her fears. Red Riding Hood was walking by the forest carrying a basket for her grandmother, and gets tricked by the wolf. That's the story that you HAVE heard. The generations of mystery and heartbreak of the Red Hiding Hood name led to questions and unbeliefs. Especially in this story. The story that you haven't heard. This time, the forest is filled with nightmares and a PACK of wolves. Even imagination friends who aren't even that good. The deadly forest is known to make people go insane. Especially the Red Riding Hood bloodline. But the main character needs to know what happened. She needs to bring the medicines that her grandmother had mailed to her to bring.
