Jay is a soon-to-be-18-year-old nontransitioned and closeted transgender boy, who can't wait until the day he can escape his strict christian environment to transition. But his life is thrown into an arcade when it gets intertwined with his long-time crush Joshua's friend group during the summer break. Joshua's friend Jake shows interest in him from the start, thinking Jay is a girl, and Jay is too scared to come out since that would mean Joshua would find out too. But life has a lot of twists for them all.

Meanwhile, Jake, who has tried to escape his traumatic past in alcohol and one night stands, has decided that he wants to give Jay his all in and get rid of his bad habits for "her". But he soon realizes that he's not the only one after her and wants to make her his' once and for all - in a completely wrong way.

Triggering topics such as rape, sexism, dysphoria, homo- and transphobia, self-harm and suicide.

I'm writing from my own experience from time to time, as a non-transitioned and closeted 16-year-old transgender boy from a strict church.

It's kind of a rollercoaster. At least for me it is.

"Is it a turn off?" She flashes a grin, revealing her perfect white teeth, inching her face closer to mine. Oh no, she's definitely flirting, and suddenly my palms are sweating. My heart pounds because I know I can't play her game. Not because I don't want to, but because-well, I'm not into girls. At least, I thought I wasn't. "I don't know. I can't really explain how other girls feel about it when you date them," I shrug awkwardly, trying to keep my cool. She chuckles softly, shaking her head, and the air between us thickens with tension. What's her game? "Forget other girls. How do *you* feel about it?" she presses, her voice low and teasing. I shift uncomfortably, squirming under her gaze. "If I were a lesbian, then no. No, it wouldn't be a turn-off," I stammer, feeling the nervousness creep up my spine. "You sure?" Her voice is honey, tempting. Meet Jay Alden, 23 years old and still figuring life-and love-out. She's always been straight... well, more like straight as a squiggly line. That is, until Ky Guery entered her life. Ky, a confident 22-year-old who's comfortable with her sexuality, flirts with ease and has Jay questioning everything she thought she knew about herself. Ky's carefree attitude and playful charm make Jay feel warm, giddy, and utterly confused all at once. One moment she's sure she's straight, the next she's drowning in Ky's kisses, wondering if maybe, just maybe, she's been wrong all along. But falling for Ky isn't just about self-discovery-it's about trust, too. Jay's been burned before by a smooth-talking ex-boyfriend, and Ky's playful ways sometimes remind her too much of that heartbreak. She's caught between the thrill of something new and the fear of getting hurt again. Does she dare open her heart, or will Ky's unpredictability push her away for good? Jay's journey is one of love, confusion, and self-acceptance as she navigates the messy middle ground between what she thought she knew and what she's starting to feel.
A Thin Line Between Love & Hate (Love Conquers All series) ORIGINAL VERSION by AMS1971
82 parts Complete Mature
NOTE: This is the ORIGINAL version. The revised version, which includes multiple added scenes and extended storylines, will be published on amazon as two separate books (A Thin Line Between Love & Hate / A Short Distance Between Heaven & Hell). The revised versions may or may not be uploaded onto wattpad, I haven't yet decided if I will be doing that. **The extremist group in this story is based on the Westboro Baptist Church located in Topeka, Kansas. ________________________________ Josh Waylon is a prisoner in his own home, his own mind. Part of an extreme religious group who has targeted homosexuals, Josh is forced to live the hate that the leader--his father--has poisoned them with. But Josh has a secret of his own, one which would bring him extreme pain and punishment within the group and alienate him from everyone he knows. When the group moves to a new town, a community which is predominantly LGBTQ, and Josh starts at the new school, he feels like a sheep amidst wolves as the many gay kids within the school know exactly who he is and what his family does. Josh feels no security with his two older brothers, who expect him to suck it up and accept the persecution as a servant of God. Brandon Nichols immediately detects the difference between Josh and his brothers, seeing deeper within the young man and the truth he is hiding, desperate not to be found out. Brandon believes his calling is to help bridge the gap between the gays and Christians in his school, but he has his work cut out for him with Josh Waylon and the extremist group that has him locked down--emotionally, spiritually...and sexually.

He'll have to open up his heart once more, even if it risks him getting hurt, if he wants to achieve happiness. ---------------------------- This is a trigger warning, to anyone that has problems with self-harm I recommend you don't read this as there are some graphic scenes. Also, this is a boyxboy story, so if you don't like hot steamy action between two boys, this is not the story for you. If you don't like it you shouldn't even be reading this anyway and I will not tolerate hate. You do not choose your sexuality and no one else has the right to make someone feel bad about who they are. Also, if any of you are having problems, or the story has triggered you, please inbox me. I love to hear from my readers.

"If I could pick anyone in the entire world, in the entire world, Will, I'd still choose you." *** William Nile has always felt a lack of control in his life. His head's clustered and the past likes to eat at his thoughts. Isolation is a synonym for safety and staying neutral is a key ingredient for survival. He's always felt more put together when he was a mess; always felt like the world was clearer in the dark. He can't help it, this is just how it's always been. Then comes along a new foster family who throws him for a loop. They're exactly who they say they are, exactly who they act to be. With that comes a goofy boy named Clement and his best friends, annoying twins who laugh loudly- -good luck telling Jude and Demi apart- -and a girl named Minnie who has a god complex. Will knew from the day he arrived that he needs to focus on acting the way his foster moms want, on getting good grades, at playing soccer well and making sure that for once, he doesn't mess up. He knows he doesn't want to lose these friends, knows he wants to feel wanted and needed and understood. Because here, there is more focus on his mental health than there is on if he's acting the 'right' way. Here, there is room for growth and change past a foster parent's ideal child. Here, there's no room for entertaining the idea of him with a pretty boy who has a witty smile and a loud laugh. On that last note, he has no idea what to do (and Will is someone who likes to plan ahead). *** A coming of age story.
