The adrenaline Amora felt earlier was gone and now she was close to passing out, but she could still hear him mumbling to himself. "You didn't freeze." She interrupts. 

Maddox went still before looking into her drooping eyes. "Good, bad, innocent, or guilty, I don't care. They'll all die if you ever get hurt again."

Even if he knew what to say back, he didn't have the chance to get it out because she was already fast asleep.

The cell was so quiet, I could hear my own heartbeat in the silence. This was far worse than pin-drop silence, this silence was deafening. The sounds of the metals unbolting from each other brought relief to my ears. The figure that passed those doors came in with an aura that had long irritated me to the core. It's as if the bubble pops because when I close my eyes and open them again, the halls are completely empty and I'm panting against the wall. I bring my hand to the bite on my neck. Nothing.
