In the grand halls of the royal palace, two worlds collide as Princess Alexandra of Yorkshire and Prince Elijah of London find themselves bound by an arranged betrothal. Alexandra, the epitome of grace and kindness, bears the weight of her title with humility, her every move a reflection of her late mother's teachings. Yet, hidden beneath her regal façade, a storm brews, sparked by the arrival of Prince Elijah, whose stoic demeanour and dark reputation precede him.

Elijah, burdened by duty and devoid of emotion, begrudgingly prepares for the union, his heart a fortress no one has breached. As Alexandra's carriage rolls through the gates of his kingdom, the fates of two reluctant royals intertwine, setting the stage for a tumultuous journey of love, duty, and redemption. Will their hearts find solace in each other's company, or will their union be torn asunder by the shadows of their pasts?

♕

"Princess," his deep voice chuckled, "you haven't seen a thing yet."

The way his green eyes glinted drew me in like a moth to a flame- his words; cold and cruel yet a strange attraction brewed in my chest.

"Maybe so, Prince Elijah," her pouty lips taunted, "but neither have you."

Her caramel eyes were glowing in the sunlight, her voice was a melody- a melody I wanted to keep to myself, my attraction to this princess was fatal.

As Sutherland's new king, Emory Davercher faces countless challenges, but nothing as excruciating and frustrating as his mysterious, eccentric betrothed. *** When King Emory of Sutherland receives news that his betrothed is on her way to Sutherland, he sends her away before even laying eyes on the woman he has no intention of marrying. Months later, after a narrow escape from an assassination, he flees to his childhood home where he discovers a massive problem. Due to an unfortunate mishap, his betrothed has not left Sutherland. She's been in his secret estate all along. Grand Princess Florence Paulet of Gavaria and her cousin, Lucy, thinks her arrival in Sutherland will be easy. She doesn't expect that her betrothed, King Emory of Sutherland, will send her straight to an empty estate on an island where they fend for themselves for months. And when he finally shows up, he has the audacity to fool her by introducing himself as someone else. After having killed dozens of chickens with her bare hands to stay alive, and with lying as her ultimate weapon for survival since she left Gavaria, what else can an annoyed, blithe, and audacious Florence do? Of course, she has to return the favor and make him twice the fool. He thinks he's fooling her, and she finds fun knowing it's the other way around. As the harsh winter traps them in the estate, lies, little accidents, and undeniable attraction draw them together stronger than the snowstorm. But not as much as Florence's true reasons for leaving Gavaria, which are also making their way to Sutherland.

I looked up horrified to meet his cold blue eyes as they peered down at me, the corners of his mouth curled slightly, revealing some of his beautifully white teeth. "I beg your forgiveness, My prince. I did not mean to offend you by accepting your brother's invitation to dance." I swallowed hard, trying to fight the lump of fear that had started to build in my throat, "I did not think I was allowed to decline." Prince Thomas let out a little chuckle, "Oh, I am not mad at you, Emma." I shivered when my name left his lips, "You have just piqued my interest, that is all." Though winning is easier said than done, as she must now compete against nearly two hundred other girls for the hand of the second Prince of Myrce, and the approval of the Queen, if she hopes to secure this new future for herself.
