Krux and Acronix are gone and Ninjago is once again at peace. Lloyd is a good leader and the ninja are faring well. That is, until the Overlord returns as a ghost seeking vengeance on the ninja- most specifically the one who destroyed him in the first place. Will the Overlord be beaten, or will another sacrifice have to be made for Ninjago to be saved?

(This takes place after crystalized) (I count Uncharted as a season so that's why it's 17) When the ninja defeat the Overlord along with help from all of Ninjago, they are finally at peace. As they help to clean up the mess, they hear of rumors, saying that there is a new darkness from the Dark Island that they have not been to in years. They decide to go alone, without Master Wu, P.I.X.A.L, or anyone. When they get there, they soon realize that it was more serious than they thought. The island was blocked off, and as the ninja realized that they were going to have to fight harder than ever before when they meet the princess, daughter of the Overlord. She and her army steal the ninja's powers and lock them up. The ninja try to escape, but have bigger issues when Lloyd's oni form starts to hurt his health. Can the ninja save Lloyd, get out of the palace to stop the princess, all on their own, without their powers?
