Lyra lives a pretty exciting life being a well known troublemaker. During the time she doesn't have to act like a polite respectful princess to please her mother, she's sneaking out and causing mayhem, living life to what she thinks is the fullest.

Estelle has a tough home life taking care of her sick mother and doing most of the work around the house. She doesn't have the luxury of being able to have fun with friends or enjoying the few years everyone her age gets to spend being carefree and making memories. 
When Estelle's house catches on fire and she can't save her mother in time, she goes to the castle to seek help. When her and Lyra set eyes on each other, both their lives change for the best and for the worst.
