Controllers

Astrid unfolded the note that had fallen out of her notebook while rolling her eyes at the stupid comment Callum had just made, not bothering to think of a witty comeback.
'I know your secret.'
Astrid felt the color drain out of her face as she re-read the note. Callum noticed the sudden and drastic change in his friend's mood, his mood immediately shifting to one similar to Astrid's.
"Astrid?" he asked cautiously.
"Well, shit!" Astrid cried dejectedly.

A long time ago, Controllers and Humans lived in harmony together. That was until a human law makers who was anti-Controller put false doubt into everyone's head about the Controllers.
They went from beloved species whom always helped others to terrifying creatures who were waiting to attack and kill overnight.
Needless to say, this sparked lots of tension and war broke out. The Controllers may have been able to control different senses and elements, but nothing could compare to the damage a good old gun can cause.
The Controllers entire population were being threatened, so the retreated. After many years of hiding, they came out again, only this time in secret. As far as the humans are aware, the filthy Controllers are either dead and too terrified to face them.
This way of life had worked for hundreds of years. But all of the balance that had been created is threatened when someone learns of Astrid Loughty's true heritage and nature, and it's a race for time to stop the people threatening to tear the world apart yet again.
