Janessa had only just met her twin sister and made friends when she was taken hostage by the Neverseen after a slightly disastrous and slightly successful mission to Ravagog. Now, Janessa is alone with only Fintan for company as he teaches her how to control her ability. Will she remain loyal to the Black Swan? Or will she be swayed by her new teacher?

He starts walking through the packed club when he bumps into a girl. He catches her just in time and begins to apologize when their eyes meet. The world stops and at that moment, there's nothing missing in his life. Everything is complete and he had never felt so filled with happiness. He stumbles out of the club a few seconds later to catch his breath outside. He has no idea what just happened or why that girl made him feel like that.
