This is a series of short stories inspired by a friend. After buying a new house his mom found a letter (random scribbling?) left behind in a back closet. The scrap of folded paper had warnings about demons that lived in the walls and forced him to sell his house. Needless to say it was an unsettling discovery. Pair that with my own personal experience of buying a house sight unseen and moving (literally) halfway across the country in the middle of a pandemic I had enough material to put together a short collection of stories. Each story opens with an item discovered in a house followed by either the origin of the item or the discovery of the item. All focus around the experience of someone moving. I write these for fun (there are more coming, just editing at the moment) and my own entertainment during the time of social distancing. I hope you find something relatable or at the very least gets you thinking. Enjoy! PS - Although I would not consider this overly graphic there are some more mature scenes and use of adult language.

Lena had always felt like something was missing. There were gaps in her childhood, moments she couldn't quite grasp, as if they had been stolen from her mind. But when she stumbled upon an old, dust-covered box in her grandmother's attic, everything changed. Inside were faded photographs, letters written in a child's handwriting, and a locket she had never seen before-yet it felt so familiar. A strange sense of déjà vu washed over her as she traced the engraving on the locket: Forever Remember. As Lena pieced together the fragments of her past, memories long buried began to resurface-some warm and comforting, others dark and unsettling. She remembered laughter echoing through a sunlit house, the scent of freshly baked cookies, and the soft hum of a lullaby. But then, there were shadows-flashes of terrified screams, a locked door, and a name whispered in fear. Her heart pounded as she unfolded a fragile letter at the bottom of the box. The words sent a chill down her spine: Lena, if you ever find this, know that the truth was hidden to protect you. Do not dig further. Some memories are meant to be forgotten. But it was too late. The whispers in her dreams, the eerie familiarity of strangers on the street, and the overwhelming sense that she was being watched-it all made sense now. You need to learn that you won't be going anywhere. You're mine." With that being said, his other hand slides down to my waist "Your entire body, your mind, your soul. All mine." All I could do was tremble at his touch. How can someone so beautiful be so heartless? ~~~~~~~~~~ All a 19 year old Aurora Shaw wanted to do was work to make a living and volunteer at the orphanage. Unfortunately for her, ruthless and cunning 26 year old Mafia leader and billionaire Tristan Black had other plans for her. He's been waiting for the perfect moment to kidnap her and finally make her his queen after 2 years of watching and stalking her every move. He'd kill anyone who gets in the way of getting what he wants. What will happen when he ruins everything she wanted and forces her to marry him? Will she escape and resist him?
