It has been a year since Ralph Murphy defied the odds and survived childbirth. 

If someone had asked him a year ago about his relationship with Jack Merridew, he would have answered positively;  they were engaged, they had a son, they were both alive and happy. But now, Ralph doesn't feel as good about his relationship with Jack; they're fighting over trivial things, they're keeping secrets from each other, and when Jack's friends Maurice and Roger go through a heartbreaking situation, Ralph feels that Jack cares more about them than him. 

It isn't until Jack goes to a party with Roger, where he makes the biggest mistake of his life, that Ralph finally begins to realize that his and Jack's relationship is falling apart.
