Their story started seven years ago.
They lost each other in 2012 and they met again in 2019.
"Will you come to Beijing with me?" He asks.
My body becomes numb and I'm unable to move. When I feel blood circulating again in my body, I stare back at him with loving eyes.
"That seems fun...but... I don't think I can com-", he cuts me off before I can finish answering.
"Why? If you're thinking about the expenses, then don't worry, I have already thought about it", he says, gently holding my hands.
The moment when he says that thing about 'expenses', I feel like slapping him hard. How can he think that I'll accept his money? I have my pride. He knows that.
But I don't slap him. Instead I lean closer to him and I place my hand on his soft lips and I hush him.
"Goodnight", I utter, giving him my sweetest smile and I walk away.
As I turn my back to him, my tears start coursing down my cheeks. I know I can't leave my problems behind, it hurts to see the person I love smiling so happily, knowing that tomorrow I might break his heart. I'm leaving and he has no clue. I know we'll never meet again...

It was like seeing my reflection move on its own in the mirror; something so inexplicable that I couldn't help but freeze in my tracks. It was weird at first, having someone that I knew was always a few steps behind me or around the next corner, but eventually, I found myself taking comfort in it. I grew used to him and the glowing halo he adorned, and he became the reason there was always a hint of a smile on my face. Even if I didn't know the story behind his untraditional appearance to me. Eventually, when we both realised what was going on, something began to change. We were distant at first, not knowing how to handle it, but after everything, he became something close to a friend. He gave me a shoulder to cry on and he kept my head above water, but most of all, he gave me someone that I knew I could always trust.
