After the events of Putting Others First, Patton and Janus have cautiously begun to accept each other. However, Patton still has some lingering questions. Can a Side know as "Deceit" really be trusted?
Janus likes to keep things close to his chest. Trust has never been something he's sought out. However, there's something about the moral Side that makes him honestly consider opening up.
There's nothing directly romantic about this one-shot, but it can be interpreted as Moceit if you want.

Deceit has had enough, and he can't do it anymore. He can't deal with the pain of burdening the others. His boyfriend, Remus, doesn't need him. Deceit had a hole in his chest: a void, that he didn't think would ever fill. Thing is, with the right attention, that hollowness could've been filled. Janus 'Deceit' Sanders and Remus 'Duke' Sanders have been bestfriends since the split, though Janus acted as the responsible, adult one despite being the same age. Remus had always been vocal about his feelings until Virgil left, calling him too emotional. Janus had always been the one to lock his feelings and emotions away never really showing them. He did this ever since he was a child, wanting to show little weakness and to be strong for the others. These both came with major consequences, Remus often found it difficult to voice his feelings out without getting mad at himself or someone else for how he was feeling. Janus had to find other ways to cope with his feelings, mostly unhealthy. But what happens when these two dorks fall for each other? I'll tell you, mutual pinning and miscommunication, with tons of angst with some hurt/comfort fluff. Soulmate au. Whatever is on your soulmates skin appears on yours. Appart from birthmarks and freckles and other scars you're born with. You get your soulmates marks after the age of four. Logan Lovell doesn't care about soulmates. The fact that someone out there is made for you is a ridiculous concept to him, one that he could never understand. Maybe that's part of the reason. Him, personally, wouldn't seek out his soulmate. But if he were to run into them...who knows? On the other hand, Patton Winters believes that soulmates are sacred and wholesome and wonderful as a concept! He'd always fantasised about what his soulmate would look like and what kind of girl she'd be. But he's never heard from her, no matter how many times he tried to talk to her.
