Have you ever just sat and thought to yourself am I unlovable?? Often times I question if there is something wrong with me. Like why the fuck am I so unlovable? No matter how hard I try or how loyal I am I'm never good enough. See me, Megan Parks when I love, I love hard. I give a person all of me. When I love you, I love unconditionally and I except whatever risk that comes with you. I'm willing to risk it all, I'll lay my life on the line for you. There are a lot of things you don't really think about until they happen to you. Take rape, for instance. I always thought, "That won't happen to me. I have a boyfriend. I trust him. He would never take advantage of me like that..." I couldn't have been more wrong. Love in this day and age is often confused for manipulation and abuse. The warning signs are here. The things we say will tell us everything that is wrong. You are worth more than what you think you are. It's not your fault. If they tell you otherwise, get out. Burn the bridge. Always remember someone is waiting for you to walk into their life. Someone needs you. Someone loves you. Getting away from all of the wrong people and finding the right ones could save you. I can promise you right now that it saved me. These are the journal entries and selected poems from my first experience of love that left a unpleasant taste in my mouth- quite literally. I am putting this out for the whole world to see because I hope everyone will learn from my experience. People can see. We have no excuses to continue living our lives in ignorance. ...WARNING... I was what they called a perfectionist. I had everything planned out and wanted a simple straightforward life. Things at home were hectic, disturbed, painful and heart-breaking. I decided that I wanted to stay away from all people that could possibly hurt me. For example, friends, extended family, judgemental neighbours and worst of all, the one I dreaded the most... love. But of course, as any normal story goes, I was unable to steer clear of love. I was unable to steer clear from him. AFTER HIGH SCHOOL
I just graduated high school and instead of celebrating it with my friends. I choose to go on a bus for an hour's ride to my sister's to celebrate my graduation with her and her friends. What I didn't expect in our celebration though was experiencing my first one-night stand with one of her friends. However, it didn't stop from there because the one-night stand led to a whole amazing unexpectedly different summer break from what I had in mind while coming to my sister's. Afterwards, where I started thinking that that was it, where I was expressing my gratitude to Aaron Hernandez for blessing me with the summer break of my whole being that I was going to cherish forever in my life. Listen, just between me and you one day I would have liked to share it with my grandkids but that was my secret to keep. Except before I know it, even miles far away from where it happened. The little secret that was meant for my grandkids only got blown in my face and suddenly it was the world's and everyone's business just like that. Blowing away with every chance, every opportunity, and everything my life hung up on, leaving me in a whole new area of life at only nineteen.
