"You're running from this because of a mutt that knows you no more than I do?"
He sat with his legs slightly apart, his masculine, pale and long fingers intwined, his crimson gaze resting on me.
"I'm not spending an eternity murdering people."
"Are you judging me, Ludovica?"
"Oh, I'd be much too intimidated to judge a vampire." I mocked.
A brief smile touched his lips.
"Do you not take me seriously, Ludovica?" He spoke my name again, like it gave him satisfaction to say it, to play with it on his tongue.
"Oh, I must take you far too seriously for it to do any good." I replied.
He paused and leant back in his chair, his gaze drawn on me. I couldn't meet that gaze.
I continued to write my history essay as he sat there, pondering.
Perhaps i should have been unnerved by his presence, perhaps i should have been afraid, or plotted to make an escape; but i didnt feel any of thise things. I didn't want to make an escape. I was perfectly at ease with his gaze resting on me as it did.
