I think there's always an assumption that monsters aren't real. And perhaps they're not. But there's always the possibility they are, and we just can't, or don't want to see them. So lock the doors and draw the curtains because you can hide but you can't run. And they will find you. I am yet to discover if that is a good thing or a very bad thing.
