Mortal Stars

You were both the light in the darkness for the other. He was your moon, and you his shining northern star. You brought him home, every night when he did things that dirtied his tattered soul. He brightened the life you had trapped yourself in, the life you sacrificed for your sister. You were both drowning, desperate for something, for someone to save you. And when you found each other, nothing... nothing could tear you apart, or at least that's what you thought. That's what your feeble little high school dreams told you. Because, though you both had lived through more than most your age, you were still kids at heart, and kids could never see passed the dreams they wanted and decided they would have.

Fate had a different idea what would happen to you two. It tore you away from each other when you needed the light the most. Left to tread the shadows alone, both of you thought you would drown and never find the light again.
