Where is An Roghnaithe? (The Chosen)

                           ********
After losing her village, family and friends to a power hungry Feudal Lord in his mad search for a thousand year old object that might just be myth, Ceridwen Yul Abur and her baby sister Dana are forced to go into hiding to avoid being captured by the Gloine Feudal forces.

Hungry, starved and lost in woods her people had deemed forbidden and sacred, Ceri encounters a bounty hunter\mercenary troupe hired by an opposing Empire because apparently there is now a price on her head.

Ceri is captured and dragged halfway across the kingdom to meet an unknown Feudal Lord, who's entire existence is clouded in a shroud of mystery, and on who's shoulder her entire destiny might as well rest on.

In a whirlwind of activities, surrounded by the most unusual group of people who eventually come to mean the world to her, Ceridwen begins to understand that there is far more to her than anyone has ever bothered to tell her and perhaps she holds the key to ending the millennia old dispute that's been existing among the Empires.

Rapture [Ver. II] •SNEAK PEEKS INSIDE• by athenamaddox
15 parts Ongoing Mature
"Those who so closely served their falsely gilded kings told the common people that the killings were some sort of Rapture," he said scornfully, poison thick on his tongue. "But what really happened on that day was what we called a Bloodletting. To cut into the veins and draw out the sullied blood so that the body may live. That is their Rapture. So when the wealthy mainlanders scorn us to our rotting moors and shackle us in the chains tarnished of our brothers and sisters blood, remember that the royal killings were a mercy to the common man, and not to their poisonous kings-a gift from our gods. Not theirs." ... After desecrating a lawless holy site and being marked for death by thieves' gods before being so much as conscious, Finn is forced to sign his life away to the pirates who found him-because Finn and their captain have something in common. Both are marked by a tattoo that could get them killed by anyone who would discover it. Bound by the honor of a mark he can't remember anything about, and a life debt to the pirates, Finn is quickly taken under the begrudging Captain North's wing. But, when his name echoes in the pirate haunts with talks of a bounty, the pirates are keen to cash in-only to find out that more than just this tattoo links them together. They have a common enemy, too. Someone who will stop at nothing to measure them both for chains. Finn and Captain North are forced to depend on each other if they want to survive the hunt and protect their secrets, but with promises of revenge and memories of the past lurking behind their shoulders, there's no telling if they'll survive-and whether or not they'll have any coin to show for it.

Cerys Woodstock, travelling outside of Tainland for the first time in her life, craves adventure and excitement. Tainish Legate Eupheme hosts elaborate parties as a guise to obtain valuable information about the agendas of other lands, to further her own political interests. Yarazhenya, a half Cassioni, half Petrovian candle maker with a penchance for day drinking, is thrilled when her niece arrives to learn about her business in Chevelles. Callira Evarrlie, Tainish spiritualist, linguist, and a close friend of the chancellor of Chevelles, wants to share her knowledge of language and culture with the world. Nobody knows what Witwatersrander Floren Cheshiring does or why he is in Cassion. These are some of the civilian foreigners in the small city of Chevelles, there to teach, to sell, to build, to travel or for other reasons. But their presence raises suspicions among native Cassioni, wary of their intentions and technology. And, as xenophobia increases, so too do acts of violence. Enter Wynemere Brackenridge, fresh from the green countryside of Elsa, new recruit in the marine protectorate forces, a pawn in the fight for Tainish expansion, who wonders if she'll be able to handle the challenges her new life is bringing her. And Gwinael Snowberry, whose her first posting as combattant involves long treks over the Cassioni mountains, skirmishes with angry locals, and attempts to reign in her daydreaming so she can follow orders. Will a mutual understanding across cultures be achieved or will tragedy befall natives and foreigners alike? It is the land of Cassion itself which has the answer, as well as it's own lessons to teach them all. After all, as the Cassioni saying goes: "We have much to learn." (Dear potential reader: This is a medievalesque military low fantasy, with little to no supernatural elements: would love to get some feedback :))

She lead a rather tragic life. The black sheep of her family due to her lack of affinity for fire. Her affinity was quite the opposite. Water in fact. Already in a time when women did not really have much political power or rights, she was outcasted by her family despite being of nobility. Still allowed to live in the distant west wing of the massive Grand Duke's manor, she has never eaten a single meal with her family nor extended family, and has spent her loneliness in her books and sword lessons. Although only taught by the head butler and one of the low ranked knights of the family, she was quite bright and if her family would have given her a chance she would have done great things. If only she didn't die at such a young age. Married off to some "hero" of sort that had slayed the Dragon of the North who was terrorizing the land and threatened the kingdom, this hero also had an affinity for fire and held her in disdain like the rest of her family. Suddenly a girl of another world was transported to their world, picked up by this hero and put into his secure care. The pair soon fell for each other despite the hero's marriage, and many believed Laraine got jealous of this girl of mystery, and tried to kill her. This was definitely not true. But because the girl was favored by the temple and kingdom Laraine was quickly arrested and put on trial. You can probably tell what happened to Laraine. But something strange happened the day of her execution. As soon as her decapitated head hit the ground the sky turned blood red and it began to rain fire. No one survived that day. But for some reason time went back, and Laraine was back to being a child, but with no memory of her future. There were select few in her life, however, that remembered her tragedy and now perhaps will take action to prevent it. NOTE: I'M AWARE THERE ARE A LOT OF INCONSISTENCIES. IT WILL BE EDITED SOME DAY BUT RIGHT NOW I'M JUST TRYING TO FINISH IT.

❝You are just a WOMAN. You can't fight in this war, you're weak. It will chew you up and spit you out, you can't keep up with us.❞ The commander scoffed with a low chuckle. A couple of men behind him chuckled as well. Evander's gaze burned into the side of my head, awaiting my reply like everyone else. ❝If I can't fight, then why did the Queen herself ask me to take over your job for the time being?❞ I asked, pulling my dagger out from its sheath, taping on Commander Leland's breastplate with the tip, ❝Careful who you call weak Commander because you clearly don't know who I am.❞ He crossed his arms defensively, ❝Oh yeah? And who are you?❞ I leaned forward lightly, ❝The name's Aislin.❞ ________________ Her name was well-known throughout the kingdoms. Some believed she was just an urban legend, while others thought she was real but some believed she didn't exist at all. She was labeled "the infamous warrior" because she was known for destroying kingdoms with her bare hands. She was a woman, but she set a strong example for tens of thousands of men. She disappeared after a horrific accident. Years had passed, and she had led a life free of violence. After all those years, she was itching to return to the battlefield. Her wish was granted when Queen Aria of Kavan herself approached her and informed her of the events unfolding in her kingdom, requesting her assistance. A sexist Commander, a caring queen, a slacker army, new friendships, and an intriguing yet hothead prince are among the challenges she faces. She's got a lot to handle. --- REVIEWS (more inside) "If you put equal portions of action, adventure, comedy, mystery, romance & feminism in a ninja blender and set it to high power, YOU 👏 GET👏 AISLIN👏.
