Lance McClain enters new sunny California, returned from a trip from Cuba, to visit his enormous family. On the other hand Keith Kogane has lived in California all his life.
He transferred to a high school off the coast to try to get a fresh start. But this fresh start isn't what he expected at all. He meets new friends, lovers, and finds out who he is. But his life isn't the greatest. Shiro his older brother gets intercepted into Florida for a job interview. They are very poor as it is so Keith is alone in their mini beach house in hot California. Loneliness. All Keith feels haunts him.

Hunk and Pidge went to a different planet to help people, and so did Coran and Allura. Shiro, Keith and Lance go on another mission to a planet where no one lives. They need to find a special living plant on the planet to make the Cryogenic Pods work properly again. Shiro choose the two boys because they always fought, but he hopes they won't now.
