Hot ZukoxOC(s) story with love triangles, lies, love, and lots of tea. It's mature for a reason but that isn't the main plot. I write in character, so everything sounds like something Zuko would actually say. Yay! Vote if you like it :)
Zuko has just been crowned the fire lord.  Bearing the weight of his responsibilities consumes most of his time, but he has recently noticed a beautiful girl who feeds the turtle ducks every morning. Unfortunately, becoming the Fire Lord didn't make him any smoother.

Shortly after Katara finds herself being presented to the new Fire Lord, Fire Lord Zuko. Tempted by the simple sight of her, Zuko cannot decide if he should let her go or keep her locked away forever. Our story takes place from the "Crossroads of Destiny" episode. While you may notice some key/similar parts, moving forward from this point in the show everything has been set on a new path.

In the year 96 AG, a freshly burned and banished 13-year-old Prince Zuko discovers a strange boy frozen in an iceberg. When Zhao interferes with Zuko's plans to deliver the Avatar to his father, Aang helps Zuko and Iroh escape. They take refuge in the abandoned Air Temples, Aang searching for any remnants of his people that he can find. Along the way, he teaches an indoctrinated Zuko about the true nature of the Air Nomads. Zuko must come to terms with the fact that everything he has been taught was a lie, while Iroh must acknowledge and face the sins of his past. Eventually, Aang and Zuko become close friends, and Zuko begins to feel things he has never felt for anyone before. However, Zhao will not give up easily, and will do whatever it takes to capture the Avatar and his traitor accomplices. This AU will explore the friendship and eventual romance that could have happened between Aang and Zuko if the circumstances of their meeting had been different.
