Frances and Klaus were best friends since they were born and she was very close to his siblings, but when they were thirteen Frances' foster father beat her until she had to go to the hospital. She was taken out of his custody and Klaus and his siblings convinced their father, Reginald, to take her in. He never adopted her, but he let her stay in his shelter. Frances found out that she was born on the same day and time as the Hargreeves and she has extraordinary abilities. As more time is spent learning about her abilities, the more she "blacks out" and does things she doesn't remember doing. When she "blacks out", she runs away more and more times, coming back to her house later, for more and more days. One day, she runs away and doesn't come back. Twelve years later, she wakes up from her trance, now twenty-nine years old. She comes back to her childhood house in a very weak state.
