My Soul - Mi Alma (Ongoing)

When Alma, a museum curator at the Met in New York, is assigned an exhibition in partnership with the Prado museum in Madrid Spain she must work closely with the associated director, Carlos Alvarez.

This won't be the first collaboration she's had with the handsome Spaniard. Not only does her wealthy Spanish-American family share a history through generations with the Alvarez family, but Alma also has a past with Carlos.

While in graduate school, Alma had a passionate affair with her then Professor Alvarez. She installed Carlos in her life for two years, until the shine came off the varnish of their relationship when he returned to his wife and children in Spain.

Now Alma is involved in her own complicated marriage with childhood best friend, Mick. With Carlos's return, the pressures mount in both her professional and personal lives, and the picture Alma had in mind for her future begins to change.

Just like with portraiture, the faces we show the world may not always reflect the truth beneath the veneer, and sometimes a pretty frame can only contain reality for so long. Whether this period of her life is just a phase or not, she hopes the new one that begins to emerge will be her masterpiece.
