In a world where the dead started walking, a few people inherited traits that were considered peculiar. Once bitten, they'll turn, not as infected, but something else.
People call them... "Rejected Subjects"

The story begins with Cyra, a twenty-three-year-old Korean American woman who has survived an entire year since the infected reached Washington state. Now, she's searching for Isabelle, a ten-year-old girl who went missing after an otherwise uneventful night.
Along her journey, Cyra encounters survivors wearing animal masks. They lend her a hand, and she soon joins their group. Within them, she finds people she can call friends, choosing to spend her days in their camp while continuing her search for Isabelle.
But those peaceful days don't last. In this macabre world, the infected aren't the only threat-humanity itself is just as dangerous.
Bandits and hostile survivors cross paths with Cyra's group. Tensions escalate, culminating in a war between factions. The aftermath delivers a bittersweet ending that forever alters Cyra's perspective on reality and its cruel, unforgiving nature.
