*2022 note - This is a work on progress... I started this about a year or two ago, and am still figuring out the storyline before I finish. I didn't have the heart to take it down, so here it remains; unfinished and unedited 😅*

Important Notice This is a work of fiction created solely for entertainment purposes. While some elements of the story are inspired by cultural practices and traditions related to Haitian culture and other sources, this work incorporates numerous fictional and creative elements that should not be taken literally or as an accurate representation of any belief, religion, practice, or specific community. It is not intended to offend, ridicule, or pass judgment on any culture, group, religion, or tradition. Any resemblance to actual people, events, or practices is purely coincidental. Amelia Rosales, a fearless anthropologist, travels to the remote community of Montagne des Âmes in Haiti to document its ancestral traditions. What begins as a cultural study quickly turns into a harrowing descent into dark rituals, impossible secrets, and a "selection process" that tests the boundaries of humanity. In a place where the living, the dead, and something else intertwine, Amelia must choose whether to remain an observer or confront a truth that could consume her.
