► "When the people around you don't know who you truly are, you become ordinary. And that is what normally happens at court." ◀︎

Adelaide is the queen of Asteria, the land after the Portal that is responsible for preserving Earth and its inhabitants by using magical stones that grant each person a unique power. However, Adelaide constantly leaves Earth in the hands of humans; she has more important things to deal with.

In her court, the nobles are not happy with her on the throne, people around her whisper about her legitimacy and her capability to reign. After all, there is a civil war going on for two years that apparently will only end with a marriage between her best friend's fiancé, Apollo, and another noble girl. And, as Queen, the decision is in her hands.

However, things become even worse. After a duke steals her throne from her, she makes a deal with a mysterious man and runs to Earth with a plan and revenge in her mind.

"With every book you read, the more depressing normal life becomes." - Astara Knight Astara Knight wishes desperately that she could escape the boring, normality of the world. She has always dreamed about magic and adventure. But when you start growing up, believing is hard when everyone tells you it's stupid and childish to do so. Especially when your parents act like you don't exist. One day her English teacher whisks her away to a world where almost anything seems possible, where magic is the normality. Adventures come with friends and maybe, possibly, even love. But when old enemies start to threaten the safety of Cornacapia, it's all up to Astara and her friends to figure out how to fulfill the prophecy that might just save them all. #First place in Fantasy in the Stellar Moon Awards #Third place in Fantasy in the Moonstone Awards
