Tim's public high school experience thus far has been characterized by bad grades and the total absence of a social life; he's listless and needs a change. It's there that he meets Beth: an intriguing, offbeat young woman who quickly enlists him as the new guitarist in her Christian hardcore band. Through new relationships, and brutal, surprising challenges, Tim is forced to confront some inner demons and decide what kind of person he wants to be.
