Setting: Navine is a 15 year old in the year 1935. America is just recovering from the Great Depression. I won't tell you the rest, you'll have to see for yourself!

~ Excerpt ~
...Louisa stood beside her, holding her hand throughout the whole service. Louisa's mother was there too, not that it made too much of a difference to Navine. Of course, she was happy to know it meant so much to these people, especially Louisa's ma. But Navine kind of just wanted to be alone. She could've sat in the cemetery all day by herself, living inside her own world in her head.

Maybe if I bite myself really hard, I'll wake up, this will all be fake

She lifted her free hand to her mouth, tilting her head down a bit.

That's crazy, you'll only hurt yourself

She began to bite her finger nails.

Just do it, what if it works

She put her index finger between her teeth

She bit down as hard as she could...
